About Us

We are located @ 151 Main Street, Seeley’s Bay (Seeley’s Bay Fire Hall). Check out the map below for directions!

Lead Pastor Jan and William MacPhail answered a calling. On November 29, 2009, Shiloh Community Church was birthed in their living room.

They saw there was a need in their community, so together, with much prayer, they decided to be a church which was not just in their community, but was ‘OF’ their community.

In February 2010, the church family moved their time of worship to the Upper Level of the Seeley’s Bay Fire Hall. Currently we are meeting Sunday mornings at 10:00am.

Our belief is “Come As You Are…” ! Meaning, we don’t care what you wear, if you are in a bad mood or if you have it all together… If you are looking for a compassionate and spiritual place to share the Word, then Shiloh is for you. Men’s Ministry weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Ladies Ministry called “OASIS” which is one Thursday a month at 6:30 p.m. Watch this website and our Facebook Page for more information.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to leave a message on our page and we will get back to you asap.

Come check us out and hopefully, Shiloh will fulfill your search for a church home. We always gather together with honesty and transparency, so we may continue to grow and discover all that God has called us to be. It would be our pleasure to meet you….

Jan MacPhail – Lead Pastor

Image of Shiloh Commmunity Church lead pastor Jan MacPhail

Pastor Jan was raised in Sydenham, Ontario, a community very similar to Seeley’s Bay by her parents and with her three sisters.

While attending camp at the age of 14, Jan embraced Jesus Christ and has been a passionate follower of Jesus ever since. She has had a burden for teen’s since she was a teen and that brought service through Inter School Christian Fellowship in High School, Youth for Christ and leadership in many, many youth groups through her local church and community.

Jan also sang in a gospel group with some friends which in an indirect way allowed her to meet her future husband, William. William and Jan married in 1981, sang together, and God blessed them with three children.

Through the years, Jan’s involvement in their local church grew to not only teaching youth but as Worship Director and Chair, serving on the Governance Board and Pastor’s Cabinet, volunteering intermittently with Children’s ministry etc.

While traveling and singing in their gospel music group “Fourgiven”, Jan received the call on her life to ministry. Within two years the doors began to open with Jan working full time in her local church as interim youth director, then being hired as Associate Pastor. After nine years she moved to another church where the youth ministry grew from seven to over thirty in nine months. After leaving that ministry, Jan and Will helped build a youth ministry in Seeley’s Bay with another local pastor. Through this, Shiloh was birthed. Ten years later, the ministry has changed and grown and we’ve seen exciting and challenging times but through it all God has proven himself faithful.

If you ask Jan what is important in her life, she will always say God first then family. Will and Jan’s family has grown from two sons and a daughter, to two more daughters and a son PLUS five (yes FIVE) granddaughters!!! Her ministry at Shiloh was unexpected (never wanted to be a Lead Pastor nor a church planter). Obviously God has a sense of humour and loves to “use the foolish to confound the wise.” (1 Corinthians 1:27). She will tell you that she loves her church family and this ministry is so very important to her.

We welcome you to join our congregation where we love to laugh, to celebrate what God has done in our lives and to learn to be authentic believers in Jesus Christ.

Jan would say that this is one of her favourite passages and constant prayer:

Ephesians 3: 14-21 (New Living Translation)

14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,[e] 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.[f] 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
